The EOP Alum’s Pop-in@10! is a series of panel discussions among the UIC UH Early Outreach Program Alumni (EOP), that began on April 24, 2021. The Third topic in this series is STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math), and will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 9:30 am CDT.
Semaj Johnson (EOP Class of 2000), is the guest panelist for the Pop-in@10! on Saturday, June 5, 2021. He is an alumni of the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Master of Engineering degree.
Semaj started his STEM career working with the local 4-H program. He developed STEM programs around robotics, 3D printing, computer programming, and laser engraving. In addition, he served as Math instructor for the Early Outreach Saturday Enrichment Program.
When he isn’t at the office, Semaj spends his time working on his electronics hobby, designing robots for competitions, and reading the latest maker publications to stay aware of the latest trends in computer science.
Semaj Johnson will be sharing insights about his pathway into STEM alongside EOP Alums. The panel discussion will focus on STEM and what it will take in the near future for current students to obtain careers in STEM professions.
