Welcome to a new semester at UIC!
The Arab American Cultural Center is excited to officially kick off Spring 2019 with an impressive lineup of events. This year our center will be focusing on the diverse needs of the student body. This will encompass events and discussions emphasizing the issues that are prevalent in today’s society – such as our annual film fest, mental health discussion, as well as the one and only Arab American graduation. These events will bridge our dialogues by dissecting and examining the intersectionality of racism, homophobia, islamophobia, xenophobia, and anti-blackness/ brown discourse. Although the center represents the diasporic elements of Arab, Arab-American, and Muslim identities, we are outreaching to all students to create a collaborative and shared space where we can all discuss the everyday struggles and realities of life, in an open and safe environment. We hope you can join us and spread our message/ events to your networks and organizations.
We are located at 111 Stevenson Hall (701 S Morgan St). For more info about the center, visit http://arabamcc.uic.edu/
We look forward to seeing you all! If you have any suggestions or would like to partner with the Center please email nesreenh@uic.edu
Stay tuned for more upcoming events…
